In April, the Rakuten.Today team attended NEST 2017 in Tokyo, an annual summit organized by the Japan Association of New Economy (JANE) that brings together global entrepreneurs and innovators at the forefront of the new economy and industry to discuss new ideas and future trends. Featuring sessions on venture capital, the circular economy, fintech, IoT, ride-sharing, drones, AI and much more, the event provided the audience with the chance to – in the words of JANE Representative Director and Rakuten CEO Mickey Mikitani – “see around the corner.” Here are some of the highlights.
