Andrés Iniesta: The Unexpected Hero, a first-ever official documentary, produced by Rakuten TV
FC Barcelona fans know it. Vissel Kobe fans know it. Everyone who watched the 2010 FIFA World Cup final knows it: Andrés Iniesta is a hero. Now, for the first time, the spectacular career of the acclaimed midfielder is being celebrated in a feature-length documentary produced by Rakuten TV: Andrés Iniesta: The unexpected hero.
Starting with his time as a young soccer prodigy in FC Barcelona’s talent school La Masia, the documentary embarks on a journey through some of the defining moments of Iniesta’s time on the frontlines of FC Barcelona’s campaigns, his leadership at Vissel Kobe, and of course the instrumental performance that turned Spain into the champions of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile, never-before-published content and exclusive interviews with soccer superstars like Neymar, Luis Suárez, Pep Guardiola, Xavier Hernández and Lionel Messi give a rare look into the more intimate side of Iniesta’s journey.
The documentary is slated for release in spring 2020, starting with Rakuten’s content platforms in Europe, the United States, Southeast Asia and Japan. For more information on local broadcast options, see here.
